How often should a piano be tuned?

We usually recommended a piano is tuned at least twice a year. The usage, environment and age will affect how frequently a piano needs to be tuned.

The type of usage will also influence how often a piano is tuned. For example, concert venues and recording studios are typically rather more discerning about tuning being 100% perfect, and so choose to have their instruments tuned far more regularly, sometimes many times in a day if recording or performing.

Fees for Tuning Upright and Grand Pianos

Our fees start from £85 irrespective of grand or upright piano.

Tunings take about an hour and I appreciate it if the area could be quiet in order to carry out the work.

Concert tunings are extra, please contact us to discuss your requirements. Further afield across Devon and Cornwall is charged according to mileage and other jobs in the area. This is assuming the piano is at concert pitch A440, or if we are tuning the piano at the pitch I find it.

Pitch Raises

Pitch raises can be done if requested, but this will incur a further charge which will be discussed before any tuning is started.
