About Grantham Piano Services
Grantham Piano Services is based in Yelverton, Devon and was established in 1972 by Mr. Lorrie Grantham Specialising in pianos and the odd instrument repair thrown in for good measure, the business thrived. In 1986, after 50 years in the trade, Mr. Grantham decided the time had come to retire and enjoy the quiet life!
Janette and John Steuart
Having both completed a four-year full-time course in piano restoration and tuning in London and with their own business in the area, Janette and John Steuart were delighted to become the new owners of Grantham Piano Services on the 1st July 1987. Since then, they worked hard to maintain and improve on the excellent standards of piano restoration with reliability and quality of service being paramount.
We moved to Yelverton
During 1990 the range of services was extended to include the sale of new pianos as well as restored instruments. On April 2008 Grantham Piano Services moved from Plymstock to larger premises on Dousland Road, Yelverton, Devon. With easy parking, two large showrooms full of acoustic pianos, with a further two digital showrooms and large onsite workshop areas to cater for all aspects of piano restoration and repair.
Professional Clients
Their clients include the Theatre Royal, Pavilions, Plymouth Guildhall and Plymouth University. Janette and John offered their customers every possible piano service including full restoration and traditional French polishing.
Grantham Piano Services Today
In early 2019, Janette and John decided that it was time to take things a little easier having spent 32 years in the business covering every known aspect of the piano trade. The shop was closed, and John is now providing a high class piano tuning and repair service to his existing clients built up over the years and catering for any new ones who may wish to take advantage of his years of experience.
